Most people are more likely to stop smoking by using some combination of medicine
with a support program that helps them break their smoking habit.
There may be support groups in your area for people trying to quit. Call your local
chapter of the American Lung Association,
American Cancer Society, or American Heart
Association, or call "New Beginnings®" Smoking Cessation Support
Line at 1-877-440-7867 (8 AM - 8 PM EST) or another organization for further
information.
If you find you cannot stop smoking or if you start smoking again after trying nicotine
replacement therapy, remember breaking this addiction takes time. You may want to
talk to a health care professional who can help you improve your chances of quitting
when you use nicotine replacement therapy.
